Fundraisers are starting to line the schedule for Tucker Lee as he battles an aggressive form of cancer.
Members of the Lyon County Fair Board are holding a biscuits and gravy fundraiser at the Fairgrounds Cloverleaf Diner starting at 7 am Saturday. Organizer Richelle Birk had details on KVOE’s Morning Show on Friday.
Residents are encouraged to enter the Fairgrounds using the 12th Avenue entrance. They will then be directed to the diner for meal pickup. Cost is a freewill donation.
Also this weekend, Town Royal will have a silent auction and other fundraisers from 12-8 pm Sunday. Shelby’s Sassy Designs is also accepting orders for T-shirts through Saturday. Later this month, the Trukin’ for Tucker virtual 5-K will be open from June 19-27 with all proceeds going to Lee and his family.
Lee is battling NUT carcinoma, which is typically found in the head, neck and lungs. There is no standard treatment for this form of cancer, and it grows quickly and can be resistant to treatment as well.
Lee is facing a tough fight. His cancer has grown, notably in his chest and possibly in certain bones in his midsection. The cancer was first found in April.
There are CaringBridge and GoFundMe accounts set up to help Lee.
