Emporia Police are reporting instances of a scam allegedly connected to Amazon.
The department says scammers are emailing people claiming to represent Amazon Fraud as they try to help resolve purportedly fraudulent charges on a victim’s account. The only way to resolve the matter is to buy gift cards with victims allegedly receiving a credit on their account afterward.
