Former Emporia State baseball player Keith Hernandez will be inducted into the MIAA Hall of Fame Monday night along with the other individuals of the 2020 class.
Last years induction ceremony was postponed due to Covid.
Hernandez, a catcher, was the 2008 American Baseball Coaches Association Player of the Year. He was also the MIAA player of the year. He helped lead the Hornets to a 50-10 record. He finished the season with a 462 batting average, hit 18 home runs, and finished with 80 RBI.
He was also an MIAA Scholar-Athlete.
The 1998 Emporia State womens basketball team was also part of the 2020 induction class. They will be inducted at a later date. The 98 team finished with a 33-1 record and were the National runners-up.
