The Royals tied the game in the 4th inning when Whit Merrifield scored on an Andrew Benintendi single.
Minnesota took the lead for good with a bases-loaded hit batter in the 5th inning.
The Royals and Twins split their 4 game series.
Monday night the Royals are in Los Angeles to play the Angels.
Jackson Kowar will make his major league debut. The first pitch is set for 8:38 pm. The game will be broadcast on KVOE 1400AM/96.9FM beginning at 8 pm.
At Omaha, Kowar was 5-0 with a .85 era. Allowed just 3 earned runs in 31.2 innings pitched.
To make room for Kowar the Royals sent Jakob Junis to Omaha.
The Royals Sunday also placed Adalberto Mondesi on the 10-day injured list.
They recalled Outfielder Edward Olivares from Triple-A Omaha.
The Royals also reinstated Josh Staumont from the injured list and sent Kyle Zuber to Omaha.
