Area counties are continuing recent trends of low COVID-19 activity.
Chase and Morris counties are still the only counties that self-report their data, and Chase County announced one new case in its community category to move that total to 206 since late March 2020. The active caseload is at one. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment’s total is 274, flat from a week ago, and includes past outbreaks at Chase County Jail and Chase County Care and Compassion.
Chase County is reporting three cases of the B.1.1.7 UK variant.
Morris County, meanwhile, had one new case over the past week to move that total to 630. There are no active cases. Morris County has had 23 deaths. There has been one case of the P.1. Japan-Brazil variant.
KDHE is handling the reports for other area counties:
*Coffey County has 745 cases, up three from June 3. The death toll remained flat at 23.
*Greenwood County has 568, even with last week. The death toll remained at 11.
*Osage County is now at 1,263 cases, up three from last week. The death toll of 26 is flat from last week.
*Wabaunsee County has 687 cases, up one from a week ago. The death toll remains at 13.
