Current Nebraska Cross Country Head Coach and distance track coach, and former Emporia State Track and Cross Country Coach Dave Harris is retiring.
Harris was the Head Track and Cross Country Coach at Emporia State for 19 years. He was named MIAA Coach of the Year 11 times. Emporia State won 10 MIAA team championships under Harris and had 20 runner-up finishes. In 1999 he became only the third coach to lead both the men’s and women’s teams to MIAA outdoor titles in the same season.
He has been Nebraska’s head cross country, distance, and middle distance coach since 2012.
