USD 253 Emporia has announced its selection to fill the soon-to-be-vacant Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources position on an interim basis.
Dr. Brad Kempf, the current principal of West Middle School in Lawrence, was approved as the interim Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources during the consent agenda portion of the USD 253 Board of Education’s meeting Wednesday evening. Kempf will be returning to the district after serving as the Associate Principal and Assistant Athletic Director at Emporia Middle School for four years.
In a news release Wednesday evening, Kempf stated, “I’m excited to rejoin the Emporia School District and work in a community that I know and love. The position of Interim Assistant Superintendent of Human Resource aligns with my professional goals, strengths, and skills. With my 10 years of administrative leadership experience, four of which were at Emporia Middle School, I am ready and prepared for this opportunity. I look forward to collaborating with the Emporia school community to meet
and exceed the school district goals.”
Superintendent Allison Anderson Harder stated in the same news release, “his previous leadership experience and educational background have provided the foundation for him to enter into the position of Interim Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources.”
Kempf will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of the current Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources Kelly Bolin at the beginning of July.
