The Kansas City Chiefs finished voluntary OTA’s and look ahead to mandatory minicamp.
Chiefs Head Coach Andy Reid gave an update on the status of new Chief Kyle Long following his knee injury.
The NFL Network is reporting that Long fractured his kneecap.
Another new addition to the Chiefs Kingdom, offensive lineman Joe Thuney praised the team’s locker room and attitude throughout OTA’s.
Hard work is the theme of this years OTA’s. 2nd-year linebacker Willie Gay is looking to bounce back after his season was cut short by injury.
The Chiefs will hold their mandatory minicamp beginning next Tuesday.
Chiefs cornerback Charvarious Ward signed his second-round tender option. Ward will earn just over $3.3 million dollars and will be an unrestricted free agent next season.
The NFL also released the preseason schedules.
The Chiefs play at San Francisco on August 14th.
They are at Arizona on August 20th for a game that will be carried on ESPN.
Their only home preseason game will be on August 27th against Minnesota.
