The Oakland A’s routed the Kansas City Royals 11-2 Saturday.
The A’s scored a run in the 1st inning. Added 3 more runs in the 2nd inning and blew the game open with 5 runs in the 8th inning.
Kelvin Gutierrez hit a 2 run home run in the 8th inning for the Royals lone runs.
It was also another rough outing for Jackson Kowar who lasted 1 and third innings giving up 4 runs on 5th hits.
Royals manager Mike Matheny says he needs to stay the course.
The Royals go for a split of the 4 game series with Oakland Sunday afternoon. Kris Bubic will be the starting pitcher for the Royals. The first pitch is set for 3:07 pm. The game will be broadcast on KVOE 1400AM/96.9FM beginning at 2:30 pm.
