A popular swimming location has been closed due to the presence of blue green algae.
According to the Melvern Lake US Army Corps of Engineers Facebook page the beach was closed Sunday after tests showed a high level of blue green algae present. The beach will remain closed until further notice.
Blue-green algae is highly toxic to people and animals, so direct contact with affected water – like swimming, wading and water-skiing — is strongly discouraged. We will keep you updated on the situation on KVOE, KVOE.com and KVOE social media.
