The Emporia Senior American Legion baseball team wrapped up play in the Sam Ellis Classic with a 4-1 loss to the Topeka Scrappers Sunday.
Topeka scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning and Post 5 was held hitless until the 7th inning when they scored their only run.
Assistant Coach Aaron Mejia like the way they responded after giving up the 3 runs in the first inning.
The Topeka Scrappers won the Championship game, outscoring the Topeka Senators 9-1.
Up next for the Emporia Legion teams, the Junior team is scheduled to play the Topeka Senators in Topeka on Tuesday and the Senior team is scheduled to play at Newton on Wednesday.
