Lyon County Fair Board Vice President Jeremiah Corpening is pleased to say the fair will return to its full schedule later this year.
Corpening made the announcement on KVOE’s Newsmaker segment Tuesday. The Friends of 4-H Picnic unofficially starts the fair July 29, with 4-H shows starting July 30. Grandstand events and the carnival both start Aug. 5. The fair closes with the traditional demo derby Aug. 14.
Corpening says several COVID-19 strategies used by the Fair Board last year were successful, including an online component to the live auction and video of certain shows through a partnership with KVOE.
Last year, the grandstand events and carnival were canceled due to COVID-19.
