Thursday is Dump the Pump Day.
Lyon County Area transportation, or L-CAT, is offering free rides all day to riders using any Lyon County route. Fares for regional travel outside Lyon County will remain in effect.
LCAT participates in Dump the Pump as an incentive for residents to try public transportation and possibly expand its ridership.
Nationally, the day was first noted in 2006 and is sponsored by the American Public Transportation Association.
