The Emporia Senior American Legion baseball team was swept by Newton in a doubleheader Wednesday night.
Newton won the first game 10-2. Newton put the game out of reach scoring 6 runs in the 5th inning. Vance Kinsey drove in both runs for Emporia with a double.
Newton won the second game 4-2. Cade Kohlmeier hit a 2 run home run for Post 5.
The Senior Legion is now 2-6 for the season. They will play again Friday and Saturday against Chase County and Ottawa.
The Junior Legion will be playing in a tournament at Andover Friday and Saturday.
