The Kansas City Royals were unable to muster much offense against the Boston Red Sox in a 7-1 loss Saturday afternoon.
The Red Sox opened the scoring in the first after an RBI single by Xander Bogarts. The Royals would respond with a single run in the third thanks to an RBI ground out by Carlos Santana that allowed Nicky Lopez to score.
Boston would overtake the lead for good with four runs in the fifth and they added two runs in the ninth to closeout the win in game two of the three game series.
The Royals and Red Sox will play again Sunday afternoon. First pitch is set for 1:10 pm. You can listen to the game on KVOE 1400 am and 96.9 fm.
