Lyon County commissioners have several items of note on their action meeting agenda Thursday.
Commissioners will discuss a resolution designating Lyon County as a Rural Opportunity Zone participating county. Counties that have this designation from the Kansas Department of Commerce offer at least one of several financial incentives for new residents, including student loan repayment assistance and 100-percent state income tax credits.
In other business, commissioners will get the monthly COVID-19 health update from Lyon County Health Officer Dr. Ladun Oyenuga and Public Health Incident Commander Renee Hively. Facilities Director Mark McKenna will also present a request to replace a water storage tank.
The meeting starts at 9 am at the County Courthouse.
