Carlos Santana hit a solo home run in the 8th, giving the Royals a 3-2 lead. The Yankees scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 8th to take a 4-3 lead.
Danny Duffy made his first start after coming off the Injured list, he gave up no runs on no hits struck out 4, and walked 3.
Royals pitchers did walk 11, Manager Mike Matheny said they gave away too many free bases.
