A third Lyon County roadway has now been closed due to high waters after recent rainfall.
The Lyon County Highway Department has closed Road 155 from F5 to G. This is the third road closure to occur Monday after Road Road H between 160 and 165 was closed earlier this morning.
The Highway Department also closed the 700 to 900 blocks of Road 160 early Monday afternoon.
The closures follow two reopenings from earlier Monday morning as barricades were removed from Road W near Neosho Rapids as well as Road 150 from M to W.
The closures come with more rainfall anticipated throughout the week. Flash flood watches are in effect for Lyon, Coffey and Osage counties through 7 pm Tuesday.
A separate watch is also in effect for Greenwood county until 7 pm Tuesday evening.

Lyon County has closed another road affected by high waters after opening two others Monday morning.
The Highway Department closed Road H between 160 and 165, shortly before reopening Road W near Neosho Rapids as well as Road 150 from M to W — a longer stretch of 150 than what was originally announced Friday evening. Monday afternoon, the department closed the 700 to 900 block of Road 160.
So far, Lyon County has received anywhere from 0.10 to 0.30 inches of rainfall Monday morning.
8:45 am Monday: Third Lyon County road closed due to high water
There was some thought Lyon County’s closed roads would reopen Monday, and that may still happen. However, in the short term, the list of closed roads got longer.
Road H between Roads 160 and 165 was announced as closed Monday, following the 1100 block of W and Road 150 between Roads T and W that were closed near the end of heavy rainfall Friday evening.
There are currently no flood alerts for Lyon or any surrounding counties. Rivers are elevated but could stay in their banks if we avoid moderate to heavy rainfall.
