The Emporia Junior American Legion baseball team split a doubleheader with the Topeka Senators Tuesday night.
Post 5 won the first game 6-0 behind the pitching of Telo Trujillo who shut out Topeka for 6.2 innings giving up only 3 hits with 8 strikeouts.
Drew Hess recorded the final out with a strikeout.
Owen Ruge led the offense going 2 for 3 with 2 RBI.
Topeka won the 2nd game 9-6. Post 5 jumped out to a 3-0 lead before the Senators scored 4 runs in the 3rd and added 5 more runs in the 4th inning.
The Emporia Jrs will close out their season next week when they play in the Salina Grand Slam tournament.
The Emporia Senior Legion is off until next week when they play in the Salina Grand Slam Tournament.
They will also be hosting a Zone Tournament July 16th, 17th, and 18th with Ottawa and Pittsburg.
Pittsburg will be hosting the State tournament.
