For the 2nd night in a row, the Boston Red Sox rallied for a win over the Kansas City Royals. Outscoring the Royals 7-6.
The Royals scored 1st on a Whit Merrifield lead off home run in the first inning.
A Michael Taylor 2 run home run in the 4th inning gave the Royals a 4-3 lead. Ryan O’Hearn hit a 2 run home run in the 5th to give the Royals a 6-5 lead. Boston would score 2 runs in the 6th inning to retake the lead for good.
Royals pitching gave up the 7 runs on 12 hits with only 4 strikeouts and 7 walks.
The Royals and Red Sox play again tonight in Boston. Mike Minor will make the start for the Royals with the first pitch set for 6:10 pm. The game will be broadcast on KVOE 1400AM/96.9FM.
The Royals have made another roster move Tuesday.
They have placed Wade Davis on the 10-day injured list with a forearm strain.
They have called up pitcher Richard Lovelady.
Lovelady has allowed just one run in 8 1/3 innings of work with 9 strikeouts and 4 walks (1 intentional) at Omaha.
