A 4 run 7th inning did in the Kansas City Royals Monday night in a 6-2 loss to the Cincinnati Reds.
In the 7th inning, the Reds hit a solo home run off of starter Mike Minor and a 3 run home run off of Kyle Zimmer.
The Royals tied the game at 1 in the 3rd inning on a Carlos Santana double. They took a 2-1 lead in the 6th on a Jorge Soler double.
Royals manager Mike Matheny said the 1st 6 innings were exactly what they need from starting pitcher Mike Minor.
The Royals and Reds play again tonight with Kris Bubic making the start for the Royals. The first pitch is set for 7:10 pm. The game will be broadcast on KVOE 1400AM/96.9FM beginning at 6:30 pm.
With last night’s loss, the Royals fall into last place in the AL Central.
