Emporia City Commissioners will consider ending a decades-long agreement as part of their upcoming action session Wednesday.
Commissioners will consider approving the termination of the city’s incentive compliance agreement with Renewable Energy Group. The city and REG entered into the agreement back in 2007 for the construction of a biodiesel facility which began in 2008 and halted shortly thereafter due to a number of circumstances.
Current plans are for the facility to be brought down to ground level with additional underground demolition work to take place with the city sharing a portion of that cost.
Commissioners will also consider selecting a search firm that will be tasked with identifying City Manager Mark McAnarney’s replacement following his retirement at the end of this year. Two requests for the annexation of land and a public hearing for a CDBG CV grant will also take place.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 1:30 pm inside the Municipal Courtroom at White Auditorium.
