Things will be a little different at the Lyon County Fair this year, but everyone is ready to still get back out after many of the events last year were canceled.
One of the main changes this year is the extensive use of the Bowyer Building. Many commercial booths will be there where everyone is invited to walk around and interact. There will also be a drawing for $250 where the more booths you visit increases the chances of winning the grand prize.
Ken Duft, President of the Lyon County Fair Board, said that the Bowyer Building will be an exciting inclusion to the fair activities.
The fair’s unofficial start is Thursday, July 29 with the Friends of 4H Picnic. After the 4H show the following day, things will be off and running. Organizers plan to have the 4H events during the first week and then the grandstand events will be reserved for later.
The grandstand events will be spread out over the second week of the Lyon County Fair.
Ranch Rodeo will continue the action Saturday, August 7. Buck, Rumble N Roll and the Mutton Bustin’ August 10. The Truck and Tractor Pull will be on August 15. The ever-popular Demo Derby will be the last grandstand event on August 14th.
Duft had further information regarding tickets and also how you can save money this fair season.
The carnival will also be running every night from August 5-14 where wristbands will cost $25.
