After years of hosting programs at Red Rocks State Historic Site, the pandemic caused them to cancel last year’s calendar. Now, the revamped Saturday at the Site events are poised to educate and support the local community.
Held at 927 Exchange St., Saturday at the Site will be on every 2nd and 4th Saturday through the month of October.
This Saturday at 10am, all are invited to come bring a lawn chair and blanket, sit in the shade, and socially distance on the east side of the Red Rocks Historic Site property to enjoy a morning of fellowship and meaningful education.
ESU’s Dr. Chris Lovett will be delivering William Allen White’s Road to WWII. Event organizer Roger Heineken says that the Saturday at the Site will be a great opportunity to educate and teach people who have not had much opportunity to do so recently.
The free admittance to the program is a great way to give back to groups that already support the Red Rocks State Historic Site significantly, Heineken says.
Next time on July 24, the Red Rocks State Historic Site will host live folk music featuring Emporia native Eric Murphy.
Further information and updates on Saturday at the Site can be found on the Red Rocks State Historic Site Facebook page.
