A Lyon County town and area county will receive coronavirus relief funding from the state aimed at retaining small businesses.
On Friday, Kansas Governor Laura Kelly announced almost $4 million in funding through the third round of Community Development Block Grant Coronavirus Supplement awards. Olpe and Wabaunsee County are each receiving $150,000. Project information is pending.
The grant program is administered by the Kansas Department of Commerce and is aimed at Kansas businesses with under 50 employees, a noticeable change from the prior two rounds of grant funding that dealt with economic development and meal programs.
Twenty-five towns or counties got funding through this program.
