The Emporia American Legion baseball teams will continue play in the Salina Grand Slam Tournament Friday.
Yesterday in their first game the Emporia Seniors lost to Newton 5-1. Newton scored 4 runs in the 6th inning to seal the win.
In their second game, the seniors were outscored by the Wichita Sluggers 6-5. Post 5 scored 2 runs in the 3rd inning and 3 runs in the 4th inning to take a 5-3 lead. Wichita tied the game with 2 runs in the 5th and won the game in the bottom of the 6th. The Seniors will play the Salina Falcons Friday afternoon in their final pool play game.
The Junior Legion lost to McPherson 8-0 in their first game. The Junior Legion will play the Salina Eagles Friday morning and Topeka Scrappers Friday afternoon to wrap up pool play.
