A fast-moving line of strong storms prompted the National Weather Service to issue a large severe thunderstorm warning while expanding a severe thunderstorm watch. The warning has been canceled, but the watch remains in place.

10:15 pm Friday: Wabaunsee County in severe thunderstorm watch until 5 am
A small portion of the KVOE listening area is now in a severe thunderstorm watch through the early morning hours Saturday.
Wabaunsee County is in a watch until 5 am. Hail to the size of tennis balls, or 2.5 inches in diameter, and wind gusts up to 80 mph are possible. Isolated tornadoes can’t be ruled out. Heavy rain is also possible.
Wabaunsee County is currently in a slight severe weather risk for the overnight period. Lyon, Chase, Coffey, Morris and Osage counties are in a marginal risk through early Saturday.
