Enrollment is on the rise at Flint Hills Technical College.
During the most recent installment of KVOE’s Tech Talk Tuesday morning, College Vice President of Student Services Lisa Kirmer stated last year’s enrollment numbers were down mainly due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However; as we continue getting back to pre-pandemic levels of operation Kirmer says overall headcount is up slightly from fall of 2019.
Kirmer says the Dental Hygiene program is full for the semester while the welding department is closing in on being full up and the automotive technology department has “exploded” in terms of enrollment numbers. Kirmer says for anyone who is still wanting to enroll for the fall semester there is plenty of time to do so.
Kirmer says the recent trends in enrollment are a “testament” to the college’s staff and faculty who worked diligently over the past year to help students succeed despite the numerous changes in learning brought about by the pandemic.
