The court process has started for a Shawnee man accused of leading a high-speed pursuit across Lyon County over the weekend.
Jamison Durkee, 23, had his first appearance in Lyon County District Court on Tuesday. His preliminary hearing will be at 10 am Aug. 18 in front of Judge Doug Jones. Bond was also set at $10,000.
The affidavit in this case is currently sealed.
Durkee faces flee and elude, possession of stolen property and numerous traffic charges after a law enforcement pursuit through Lyon and Chase counties at speeds above 100 mph Saturday night. Durkee was arrested Sunday morning at the Kansas Turnpike Matfield Green service exit. Chase County has not confirmed whether it plans to file charges in the case.
