The Emporia Planning Commission and Appeals Board has its monthly meeting Tuesday evening.
The main talking point will center around a proposed review of the city’s new zoning regulations. Last month, the commission held its first review of the regulations during which time commissioners took a specific focus on the topic of infill and greenfield development.
During that time commissioner Chip Garrett proposed the city look into splitting the minimum lot size requirements for residential lots in certain areas of the city. Commissioners could formally approve the regulations which would then move on to a public hearing, tentatively set for Aug. 17, before possibly moving on to the Emporia City Commission for final approval.
In other businesses, the commission will also review the annual capital improvement plan.
The meeting begins at 6:30 pm inside the Municipal Courtroom at White Auditorium.
