Preliminary hearings are now on the court docket for three people — two from Emporia and one from Topeka — who were arrested last week on suspicion of drug activity.
All three suspects — Sheldon Davis and Amber Burch of Emporia, David Amos of Topeka — will have their hearings the afternoon of Aug. 23.
Arrests came to light after a traffic stop in Emporia on Tuesday, based on a cracked windshield. Emporia Police officers have said there were drugs inside, but they have not announced the quantity or the types of drugs.
Davis is charged with single counts of methamphetamine distribution, meth possession and paraphernalia possession. Burch and Amos both have single counts of meth possession and paraphernalia possession. Affidavits in all three cases are sealed.
