For the 10th year in a row and 17th time in the last 19 years, the Emporia State volleyball team has been recognized for its work in the classroom. They have earned the USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award from the American Volleyball Coaches Association.
As a team, they had a 3.60 team GPA. Ten of the 12 players on last year’s roster had at least a 3.40 cumulative GPA.
Emporia State has also released the 2021 volleyball schedule.
The Lady Hornets will open their season on September 3rd. They will be playing a tournament hosted by Southeastern State of Oklahoma.
In the second week, they will play in the Fort Hays State Tiger Classic.
The Lady Hornet Volleyball team opens MIAA play at Nebraska Kearney on September 17th. Their first home match will be on September 23rd when they host Central Missouri.
