A Council Grove man with a Lyon County warrant was arrested Monday night in Topeka.
Shawnee County Sheriff Brian Hill says a deputy conducted a traffic stop and discovered the methamphetamine distribution warrant against 31-year-old Richard Primera. Details about the alleged possession of a firearm and methamphetamine were not announced as part of a news release Tuesday, but Primera was arrested on suspicion of the Lyon County warrant, criminal possession of a firearm, criminal carrying of a weapon, possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia, interference with law enforcement and several traffic-related counts.
Formal charges are pending. Shawnee County deputies are still investigating the incident.
