Another Evergy Phone Scam has been reported this week.
This scam is similar to one residents were made aware of in May of 2021.
The caller claims to be an Evergy representative and demands immediate payment or services will be terminated. These representatives are not employees of Evergy.
Evergy Spokesperson Andrew Baker says customers may verify if an individual is from Evergy by asking to see company identification or by calling the Customer Contact Center before giving out any information.
Baker also says Evergy will never ask customers to make payments with a pre-paid debit card, gift card, or any form of cryptocurrency.
If you can’t verify that you are speaking to an Evergy employee customers may call 1-800-383-1183 or you can review your account status at Evergy’s website.
