The Emporia Animal Shelter is well stocked on feline friends at this time and as such the Humane Society of the Flint Hills is offering a new limited-time deal to individuals looking to adopt.
The shelter is currently running a buy one get one free deal for all cats as the shelter currently has right around 100 felines in its care. Humane Society of the Flint Hills Director Stephanie Achille says they began to notice an uptick in the local cat population over the past month.
Residents wishing to take advantage of the BOGO offer, will need to call the Animal Shelter at 620-340-6345 or stop in between 10 am to 5 pm Saturday through Wednesday or by appointment only Thursday and Friday to begin the process. The cost to adopt an adult cat is $40 while the cost for kitten adoptions is $75.
For those wishing to adopt both an adult cat and kitten as part of the BOGO deal, the cost will be $75. The cost for two adult cats is $40.
Residents will need to have an intent to adopt form on file. There will be a 24-hour hold as the shelter processes all necessary paperwork.
