Overall coronavirus cases rose slightly, however, active cases remained unchanged to begin the workweek in Lyon County Monday.
Public health reported four new cases bringing the county’s overall total to 4,372 since late last March. Four recoveries were also reported keeping the active case total at 27.
Deaths were unchanged at 86 with two cases pending final cause information from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. KDHE is reporting Lyon County has 34 variant cases with 18 of the alpha variant and 16 of the highly publicized delta variant.
Active hospitalizations were unchanged at one.
In addition to the latest COVID statistics, Public Health also reported that Aug. 7 will be the final day residents can receive the Johnson & Johnson vaccine at Flint Hills Community Health Center. At this time it is unclear if the Health Center is planning to alter its availability for the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines. The Pfizer vaccine has been available daily, along with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, since last Monday.
