With COVID-19 cases continuing and a relatively low level of hospitalizations connected to the virus, Newman Regional Health is updating its patient visit restrictions.
On KVOE’s Monday version of Talk of Emporia, Chief Executive Officer Bob Wright said the hospital is now in mid-level restrictions for inpatient visitors.
The most restrictive level is Tier III.
For the hospital proper, all patients will be screened at Entrances C and F on the north side. Patients receiving services can have one person accompanying them. All visitors must be screened and masked.
Visit policy remains status quo for the hospital’s clinics, meaning one visitor for non-pediatric patients and two for pediatric patients. COVID screening is mandatory, as is mask usage.
Off that topic, the hospital’s Board of Trustees is meeting at noon Wednesday at the hospital. The agenda includes a financial update from the Newman Regional Health Foundation, monthly updates on COVID-19 and finances and executive sessions on risk management and physician contracts.
