The premiere of several new activities and exhibits is making it a busy and exciting time for the Lyon County History Center.
The Lyon County History Center will be offering ghostly experiences when they collaborate with Flint Hills Paranormal this coming fall. History Center Director Greg Jordan says that the public training and investigations will provide crucial evidence for many of the abnormal reports about the building.
Flint Hills Paranormal will be coming, but a confirmed opening date has yet to be announced.
In other news, the recent introduction of the Flower Power Exhibit at the History Center is receiving great feedback. All of the showpieces in the exhibit incorporate flower motifs. Pieces like hair wreaths, sashes dating back to the 1940s, quilts, and vintage hats create an aesthetically pleasing time capsule from the past.
Plans are in place to continue the exhibit next spring. Folks can call Lisa Soller at (620) 340-6314 to include their flower-motif items in the exhibit.
The Lyon County History Center is also still renting out the 6,500 sqft. space on their third floor that has recently hosted events like the Come Laugh with Us for SOS fundraiser to great reviews. Jordan says that you can reserve your spot today.
The Lyon County History Center is open at 711 Commercial Street 10am-4pm Tuesday-Saturday, and then 12pm-4pm on Sundays.
