A lot has changed since Emporia Main Street was founded in 1991, and Main Street is celebrating its history and path forward with big events Friday.
Main Street Director Casey Woods says things have evolved in Emporia’s favor the last 30 years.
Main Street will have its annual meeting from 6-7:30 pm inside the Granada Theatre. Board elections and annual awards are part of the event. There will also be a recognition of Emporia Main Street as one of five national organizations to receive the Main Street Forward award.
The annual meeting is officially sold out.
Overlapping the annual meeting will be Main Street’s Summer Moonlight Madness shopping event from 5-11 pm. Nearly 20 downtown businesses will have special deals. There will be a beer garden and food trucks. The Steve Kile Band will also perform starting at 7:15 pm.
