As Halfway 2 Everywhere approaches, the musical lineup is now set — but the entertainment goes beyond the music and there is time for others to get in on the fun.
The day-long festival is Sept. 4, and lead organizer Hank Osterhout is encouraging food truck purveyors and artists to go to www.ksfreeforarts.org to get signed up.
The website is also the place to go to download free tickets for the event as well as VIP passes. Those cost $150 and include dinner, drink vouchers, a T shirt poster and canvas tote.
Osterhout says 35 musical acts from across the country are coming to Emporia for the festival. Stage lineups:
*City of Emporia stage: Stranded in the City, Comfort Revue, Pablo Sanhueza and Los Subtropicales, Half Tiger Half Bear, Band of Light, Wyrmwood, Ladee J, Making Movies
*Radius patio stage: Scarlet Sound, Sean Richey, Brent Windler, Joe Foster, Eric Murphy, AJ Gaither, RaNdAl cOnRaD OlInGeR, Possessed by Paul James
Bourbon Cowboy Stage: Sunshine Trucking, The Fighting Side, Mountain Deer Revival, Dustin Arbuckle and the Damnations, Dale Watson

This year’s festival is dedicated to the memory of Max Byram, who was killed in a motorcycle wreck outside Council Grove earlier this week.
