A motorhome was destroyed after a crash and resulting fire in northern Coffey County on Monday.
Sheriff Thomas Johnson says deputies received numerous calls for a vehicle fire on Interstate 35 near the BETO Junction exit shortly after 4:15 pm. Deputies found the motorhome on its side, blocking both lanes of northbound traffic.
The motorhome had a tire blow out, which caused the vehicle to hit the guardrail and bridge at the I-35 junction with US Highway 75.
The motorhome was pulling a trailer containing a small tractor. The trailer left I-35 and landed on US 75 below.
The motorhome had one person, a currently unnamed driver, who got out unhurt. There were also no injuries after the trailer and tractor landed on US-75.
The motorhome caught fire and was a total loss.
