Lyon County Public Health has announced another double-digit increase in new coronavirus cases along with a double-digit increase in active cases.
Public Health has announced 18 new cases in its report Friday. It also announced an increase in active cases from 48 Wednesday to 60 Friday. Eleven of the 60 active cases are breakthrough cases involving fully-vaccinated residents.
Active hospitalizations increased from two to three. Deaths remain at 87. Updates on variant cases have not yet been announced by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
KDHE says 51 percent of Lyon County’s eligible population ages 12-plus is fully vaccinated, up from 50.8 percent Wednesday. For total population, the fully-vaccinated percentage is 43.6, up from 43.4 percent Wednesday.
All told, Lyon County now has 4,439 total cases since late March 2020.
