The Cardinals scored single runs in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th innings.
The Royals would score 2 runs in the 6th inning on a Ryan O’Hearn triple and Hunter Dozier single.
The Royals and Cardinals play again this evening. Brad Keller will be the starting pitcher for the Royals. The first pitch is set for 6:15 pm. The game will be broadcast on KVOE 1400AM/96.9FM beginning at 5:30 pm.
Greg Holland pitched a scoreless seventh inning against the Cardinals on Friday night, and it marked the right-hander’s 383rd appearance with Kansas City, passing Mark Gubicza (382) for sole possession of sixth all-time in club history. Holland would need to appear in 44 more games with the Royals to match Joakim Soria’s 427 appearances for fifth.
