A Lyon County woman and Osage County man have been arrested on suspicion of having methamphetamine in their possession with intent to distribute the drug.
Osage County Sheriff Chris Wells says a deputy handled a traffic stop at Market and Topeka in Osage City after an alleged traffic infraction around 9:30 pm Sunday. As part of the stop, a K-9 unit was used and narcotics were allegedly discovered.
The driver, 41-year-old Michael McGuire of Osage City, and a passenger, 36-year-old Lisa Mueller of Admire, were both arrested and booked on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine with intent to distribute and possessing drug paraphernalia. McGuire was also booked on suspicion of operating a vehicle without a valid license.
Formal charges are pending.
