Council Grove Police have announced two arrests on suspicion of drug activity.
Chief Shawn Wangerin says the arrests happened late Monday night. Officers had a traffic stop in the 800 block of West Main and used a K-9, which alerted to potential drugs in the vehicle.
Following the traffic stop, 23-year-old Layne Sporleder of Council Grove was arrested on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of prescription drugs, felon in possession of a firearm and an outstanding warrant.
Also arrested was Terra Thayer of Junction City on suspicion of possessing meth with intent to distribute, unlawful possession of prescription drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Formal charges are pending.
