Another public event has been affected by coronavirus.
This time, it’s Brews and Bites to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters Serving Lyon County. Originally set for Friday at the Emporia Granada Theatre, Area Manager Jacque Wellnitz says it’s delayed, not canceled.
The event will maintain the same format as planned for Friday night, including food and drink samples, silent and live auction and entertainment from Annie Up. Proceeds will help expand Big Brothers Big Sisters’ reach in Lyon County and, possibly down the road, expand to Chase, Coffey and Morris counties.

While Brews and Bites is postponed, the Birdies for Bigs disc golf fundraiser is still slated for Sunday afternoon at Emporia Middle School. Check-in sstarts at 1 pm with registration costing $25. Information is available at www.discgolfscene.com.
