The Emporia State football team held their first practice this morning. 114 players were on the field beginning their preparation for the upcoming season.
Head Coach Garin Higgins said it was a good 1st day.
One of the strengths for the 2021 Hornets will be the linebacking corp with 3 All MIAA players returning.
Leading that pack is All-American Jace McDown.
Dawson Hammes was an honorable mention All-MIAA selection.
Gee Stanley was also an honorable mention MIAA Selection after finishing 3rd in the MIAA in tackles for loss.
The Hornets return to the practice field Thursday morning.
