One-time mayor. Longtime accountant. Lifetime achiever.
Bobbie Agler led a life that enriched his family and his community, but Agler passed away early Friday morning after an extended battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.
Agler was a former mayor and Emporia city commissioner, Agler worked for 35 years at Agler and Gaeddert, Chartered, and served for several years as a financial consultant for Lyon County government.
Agler also served on numerous boards and been involved with several philanthropic activities like Emporia State’s Now & Forever fundraising campaign. He also helped to found ValuNet with Rick Tidwell, Stormy Supiran and Steve Sauder.
Regional Development Association President Kent Heermann says Agler’s attitude was simple: how can I help.
Agler was honored with the Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017.
Financial consultant and retired attorney Dick Mellinger had a great friendship and working relationship with Agler since the mid 70’s and says it was an honor to know him and work beside him.
