On Wednesday, Evergy has several planned power outages taking place east of Emporia.
Evergy has an outage planned from Neosho Rapids south to Hartford, as well as outages affecting the BETO Junction area, southwest of Melvern and the Waverly area.
The outages begin around 8 am as Evergy replaces a broken transmission pole. Power should be restored by 2-4 pm. Emporia, Lebo and Burlington are among the area communities that will not be affected by these outages.
