Salvador Perez drove in 2 runs in the bottom of the 8th to break a 5-5 tie to lift the Kansas City Royals to a 7-6 win over the Houston Astros Monday night.
Hunter Dozier homered in the 6th to tie the game at 4.
Whit Merrifield was 3 for 5 with a run scored and an RBI.
Ryan O’Hearn drove in 2 runs with a double in the 2nd inning and a single in the 3rd inning.
The Royals and Astros play again Tuesday night with Daniel Lynch on the mound for the Royals. The first pitch is set for 7:10p.
The game will be broadcast on KVOE 1400AM/96.9FM beginning at 6:30 pm.
The Royals Monday also placed pitcher Greg Holland on the 10-day injured list with right shoulder impingement.
